"Anybody can make a website...
but only a few can make it look good!"
Nuview Nutrition
For Nuview Nutrition of Clarkston, MI, I first created the logo. To convey the image of nutrition, I used an apple as the main image of the logo. I also used very clean typefaces and curves that had a similar look and feel of the apple. I maintained the clean look and feel that many people have come to associate with nutrition.
I then created a website layout that focused on the design from the logo. The simple and bright colors bring a clean look that many people have come to associated with health. The primary use of red and green further convey the imagery of fruits and vegetables. The website was recently overhauled in late 2012.
Gregg's Gourmet Cafe
This is a website created for Gregg's Gourmet Cafe of Clarkston, MI. While originally using a custom web application to keep track of all menu items, it has been redone using WordPress that allows for a easier to navigate view and quick-to-reference menu information. The design of the site borrows the colors and simplicity of the existing logo. The site is now responsive in it's design as a lot of people check the menu from mobile devices.
The Gate / 7-10 Bar & Grill
This is a website I created for The Gate, bowling alley, bar and grill located in Big Rapids, Michigan. The website was given a facelift in 2012 and now uses WordPress for a majority of the pages while using PHP for special pages like the event calendar and reservations. The website is now built with responsive design, meaning that it will resize based on the size of the users screen so it will look good on both large monitors and mobile devices.
Sage Orthodontics
In this website for Sage Orthodontics, located in Portage, MI, I incorporated not only the colors in the logo, but also colors used in the office itself. My goal was to create a very "hygienic" look using clean clines and colors that were pleasing to the eye.
Laura Jasurda - Helping Others Achieve Success
This website was used for Laura Jasurda of Clarkston, MI to promote her small business expertise. The website was designed to work alongside her logo and feature her front and center.
Culver's of Lake Orion

Four Green Fields Farm
This is a website I created for Four Green Fields Farm, located in Rodney, MI, which is just outside of Big Rapids. The farm features a haunted hay ride and maze in October and sleigh rides in the winter. This was the first web site that used the calendar/event system I built. The features are designed to allow the owner to edit events without programming knowledge. The website was given a country appeal with blues and greens which reflect on the culture of the farm and business.
Common Scents Canine Center, Inc.
Common Scents Canine Center, Inc. of Ortonville, MI offer both boarding and grooming for our furry friends. In order to accommodate both into one website, I gave them both their own flair. The website is able to contain a high amount of information without overwhelming a user.
Moxie Fitness & Health
This website was created for Moxie Fitness and Health, which is owned and operated by Michelle Pozan. The blues contrasting with splashes of orange create an inviting look in order to inform potential customers of the services offered by the owner, Michelle Pozan.
Accurate Physical Therapy / Health Team Services II
This is a website I created for Accurate Physical Therapy / Health Team Services II located in Pontiac, MI. They specialize in aquatic physical therapy. Because of this, I wanted to express this on the website by giving it a water theme. The website is easy to navigate so people can find the information and help they need.

Rob Schroeder - Maintenance, Repair & Paint
This is a single page website made for Rob Schroeder, a handyman located in Southern Genesee County, MI. Because of his love for cars, the site uses Ferrari red in its design. I also replicated the design of his business card into the header of the website.
Christ Lutheran Church of Waterford
For the Christ Lutheran Church of Waterford website, I designed the layout to be welcoming for the congregation and those who are searching for a new church to call home. The site features a calendar that gives a lot of information on events going on throughout the week and weekend for members to take part in.
Susan M. Kolb, MA - Limited Licensed Psychologist

Michigan Elvis Presley Fan Club Logo
I created this logo for the Michigan Elvis Presley Fan Club. The logo incorporates the map of Michigan with silhouette of Elvis inside the state. The logo uses a typeface that incorporates the look and feel of the Elvis era.
Logo for Gary Zirwes - Health and Wellness
This logo was created for Gary Zirwes - Health and Wellness. It incorporates the three messages that his company covers in the outer circle. Because his company sells many "green" products, the color was heavily used in the design.
Show Your Support for Breast Cancer Awareness Logo
I co-created this logo with Katie Tackaberry. It was later used for sale of t-shirts where the proceeds were put towards Breast Cancer Awareness.
Logo for Pure Relaxation Massage of Clarkston, MI
This logo was created for Pure Relaxation Massage. It uses clean and elegant lines that give the feeling of sophistication. The typeface used with the logo reflects this same feeling.
I also created the company's first website. The site recreated the sense of sophistication that the logo gave. Eventually, the company outgrew my services and set forth on their own.
Logo for the Respiratory Card Club of Ferris State University
When the Respiratory Card Club of Ferris State University were creating merchandise for their group, they commissioned me to create the logo. This logo is a simple and professional to reflect the hard work they put into their studies.
Renaissance Recreation
I chose a renaissance artwork and recreate it in black and white, grayscale, and then abstract a portion of the artwork. I chose a close-up of the "Creation of Man" by Michelangelo and used the tips of the fingers to abstract. The grayscale and black and white pieces were done in Adobe Illustrator while the abstract piece was done with cut paper.
Metallica CD Cover
Here I recreated an existing album cover using major design principles. I needed to have a front, back, inside spread and a stick-on for the actual CD. I chose my direction to illustrate a literal interpretation of the Master of Puppets. I used black negative space to give the feeling of isolation and have a puppet representing each member of the band.
Mike Shinoda Artist Poster
For this design, I mimicked the artistic stylings of another designer. I chose Mike Shinoda as my artist and used an urban theme that is seen in many of his works. This gave me the chance to display how I could change my own design preference when needed. This design borrowed from his artwork on the limited edition of The Rising Tied album.
Quote Illustration
For this design, I picked a quote and displayed the meaning of it visually. My quote was chosen because it is ironic to the design degree and was showed to be very cramped in space.
Typeface Postcards
In this design, I made a set of four postcards advertising a typeface convention in New York. I chose a direction that showed a complete skyline of New York City when all postcards are put together while the titles of the twenty featured typefaces are displayed in the background.
Typeface Specification Book
For this design, I created a book showcasing the 20 typefaces. I chose the direction I used because it uses a lot of white space and displays the characteristics of the typefaces as the main feature.
Shoe Illustration
For this design, I took a photo and manually traced it in Illustrator. First we trace it in flat color, then trace it using only black and white, then using gradients to give a 3-dimentional appearance
Panorama
For this picture, I took multiple shots side-by-side and combined them together to create one flawless picture. I took four pictures of my dorm room and placed myself in every shot, giving the illusion that there are four of me.
